Scaleup and Engineering Leaders
We recruit Scaleup and Engineering Leaders who turn innovative concepts into scalable realities. These sought-after experts excel at transforming small breakthroughs into large-scale successes, driving growth and operational excellence in Deep Tech companies.
Engineering Leads for Deep Tech
Deep Tech Leaders’ Scale-Up and Engineering Leads are comfortable with novel technology development from first principles. awareness of broader issues and challenges related to manufacturability, regulatory, quality, supply chain, and of course, EHS are important. Admittedly, such considerations are less relevant in this early phase, but they do raise their heads during the Scaling phase. Part of knowing when a prototype is truly ready to scale comes from the early consideration of such operational issues.
Below are examples of the Engineering Leaders we’ve placed.
Andy MacInnes - Chief Development Officer, Paragraf
With a PhD in Materials Science and post-doc research work at Harvard, Andy’s early career was in research and process engineering of chemical vapor deposition techniques. British by background, Andy spent most of his career in the US, working with semiconductor groups like TriQuint and II-VI, before joining graphene electronics innovator, Paragraf, as their Chief Development Officer, responsible for taking the group’s lab-based processes and scaling these to the level required to serve global industry.
Greg Alcott - VP Engineering, Nexeon
PhD in Physics plus an MBA, Greg’s early research and process engineering background has exposed him to the semiconductor, solar and broader advanced materials industries with groups like Meyer Burger and Applied Materials. He joined a Swedish solar start-up, progressing the technology from TRL 4 – TRL 7, ultimately taking responsibility for the entre engineering team. Greg joined Nexeon to support the scaleup of the group’s silicon anode technology for lithium-ion batteries.
